Traditional Peruvian Ceviche
Ingredients:
Fish fillets cut into small cubes
1 cup fresh lime juice
1 red onion, thinly sliced
1-2 rocoto peppers or jalapeño peppers, seeded and minced
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions:
In a glass or ceramic dish, place the fish cubes and cover with lime juice. Make sure the fish is completely submerged. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes until the fish turns opaque.
Drain the excess lime juice from the fish.
Add the red onion, peppers, cilantro, and garlic to the fish. Mix gently to combine.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Refrigerate for another 20-30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Serve chilled and enjoy the zesty flavors of traditional Peruvian ceviche!
Tropical Ceviche
Ingredients:
1 pound mahi mahi fillets, cut into small pieces
1 cup lime juice
1 cup diced fresh pineapple
1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced
1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine the mahi mahi and lime juice. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for about 20-30 minutes until the fish is "cooked" by the citrus juice.
Drain the excess lime juice from the fish.
Add the pineapple, red bell pepper, red onion, jalapeño pepper, and cilantro to the fish. Mix well.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Refrigerate for another 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Serve chilled and enjoy the tropical twist on ceviche!
Spicy Ceviche
Ingredients:
1 pound fresh tuna, sushi-grade, cut into small cubes
1/2 cup lime juice
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 green onions, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine the tuna, lime juice, soy sauce, sesame oil, green onions, and sriracha sauce. Mix well to coat the fish evenly.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Refrigerate for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving, if desired.
Serve chilled and enjoy the spicy kick of tuna ceviche!
